Tree Dead Wooding
Tree Deadwooding
Deadwooding is the removal of dead branches and limbs from a tree. If a tree is subject to light deficiency, pests and disease damage, these are all reasons why branches could die and eventually, fall off. Deadwooding should be carried out as a routine to ensure that branches do not fall and cause a safety issue. It often takes a long time for a branch to die and fall off, but can be sped up with high winds and extremities of temperature. Dead wooding is particularly important for trees overhanging roads, houses, public areas and gardens.
Depending on where the tree is situated, it may cause a potential threat to pedestrians, traffic or children playing below, which is why it’s so important to catch the deadwood early and get it removed professionally and safely.
Advantages to Deadwooding
- Added Safety – It’s important to remove tree deadwood to eliminate the possibility of branches falling on an individual or your property
- Weight Reduction – Helps the wind resistance of the tree in certain areas and aids the tree’s overall balance
- Aesthetics – a tree with the deadwood removed looks more aesthetically pleasing and healthy
